I must confess I have a huge travel crush on Edinburgh. It's hard to put into words why I love this city. Maybe it's the mix of Gothic and Georgian architecture, the Royal Mile flanked on each end by a castle, or the friendly Scots that are more than happy to help you find your way around their city. Everywhere you look, there is a winding alley to follow, a dark close to explore, you can even find an underground city here. Or maybe it's just the whisky. If I could teleport myself anywhere today, I'd pick the Princes Street Gardens. This city center park has lush green grass, beautiful flowers and a breathtaking view of Edinburgh Castle. I particularly love the Scott Monument, in all its Gothic glory. Look close and you can even see the Balmoral Hotel in the distance. Next time I'm in Edinburgh, I plan to climb to the top of the Scott Monument. You can find out more about the monument here.
