|Taro Fields of Kauai|
Today is the first day of October, and fall is in the air. The weather is starting to cool down here in Arizona and I am looking forward to a new season. As the leaves start to turn yellow and orange, my thoughts turned to the colorful islands of Hawaii. Let's say adieu to summer with a last look at the bright and summery colors of Hawaii.

My first impression of Hawaii was of the beautiful green landscapes and plants. One of the most awe-inspiring sights was of the taro fields in Kauai, seen early in the morning as the sun was just starting to peek it's head over the lush, green valley. I also saw many lovely gardens full of stunning vegetation, like these lily pads and palm fronds.

The greens were followed by the beautiful blues of the sea and sky. We took a raft tour of the Na Pali coastline, and I was amazed by the azure waters reflecting the bright blue skies. I really loved being out on the water and seeing this amazing stretch of the coast. We even had a chance to go into some of the caves along the coast, where we saw some natural waterfalls on the sides of the cliffs.
Hawaii is home to so many lovely tropical flowers, in all shades of red and purple. I loved the red ginger, the pink plumeria and these magenta orchids. There were also some cute pink flamingos wandering around the hotel in Honolulu! Isn't he dashing?

With all the rain, we were also treated to many spectacular rainbows. Then there was this rainbow, strapped to my back as my sister and I parasailed in Waikiki Beach! I don't ordinarily seek out adventure activities, but parasailing in Hawaii was one of the coolest things I've ever done. We had the most amazing birds-eye views of Waikiki and of the ocean. I will never forget those sights, or any of the beautiful colors of Hawaii!
