Valentine's Day Tea Review: Petrushka Blend by Kusmi

Valentine's Day Tea Review: Kusmi Petrushka

Happy Valentine's Day!  I have always considered this a holiday to celebrate love and friendship, and nothing celebrates friendship more, in my opinion, than a good cup of tea.  So, today I offer you this tea review and a sneak peek of the Valentine's Day gift I made for a few of my girl friends.

Valentine's Day Tea Review: Kusmi Petrushka

Kusmi is one of my favorite brands of tea, because their blends are amazing and they are packaged in the cutest tins.  I selected the Petrushka blend as my Valentine's tea, because one of the top notes of this blend is rose.  Appropriate, don't you think?!  Petrushka is a black tea flavored with almond, rose, vanilla and spices.  I first tried mine hot, with a tablespoon of vanilla powder to give it a creamy, latte finish.  The flavor is complex, with the almond and vanilla at the top, followed by a taste that is similar to liquorice or a Dr. Pepper.  It finishes with a fruity note.  This tea is heavier than I normally drink, I tend to like a black tea blend with a a sweet, red fruit flavoring.  However, I enjoyed  Petrushka's unique taste and would recommend it for a cold winter's night.  It appears that Kusmi is sold out of the blend at the moment, but there are tins currently available on Amazon.

Once I decided on my tea, I needed a cute way to package it for the girls.  I found these fun party favor vials at Michaels and filled them with tea.  Then I secured the cork stoppers with some festive washi tape from Target.  It was a really easy little gift to put together, and pretty cute, too!  I will give the girls their tea, along with a valentine, and hope they enjoy a good cuppa on me.  I hope you all have a sweet Valentine's Day, whether you are celebrating with a loved one or just treating yourself to a nice cup of tea!
